Patience is the Key to Success

"Nothing worthwhile comes easy" — Theodore Roosevelt

Some days I feel like I’m riding a wave — one moment I’ve got it all dialed in, the next I’m staring down a whole new skill to master. It’s wild, it’s exhilarating, and it takes patience. Big thanks to my partners and mentors who are guiding me through this adventure. Couldn’t do it without you.

The VMS program with Studer Community Institute officially kicked off for me, and my first meeting was a success. I went in confident, came out with a to-do list a mile long, and for three weeks I’ve been checking boxes like a champ. One of my mentors even called a few days later, right when I was having a tough run (literally, I was running and beating myself up about what I wasn’t doing “right”). He called to tell me that he was impressed by my passion for Shredder Cheddar, and his words picked me up to climb to new heights.
On the creative side, I’ve been working with a friend and mentor on packaging and design. We’ve teamed up with a student at Clemson, and the final touches are coming together. It’s amazing how much small details can pop and grab attention — I can’t wait for you to see it. This community continues to blow me away with the support and energy you bring to this journey.
We had a big win with our last Shredder Cheddar batch run at the co-packer — the process clicked, and I thought we were ready to scale up. I was over the moon, until the shipment came in with more product loss than expected, but that’s what trials are for, right? We’ve got another run coming up, and I’m excited to see what we’ve learned and how much smoother it goes. Efficiency, here we come!
This month was packed with events: Run, Roast, and Refresh with @Plungeworkx and @850RunClub, the WildCat Ultra (shoutout to Aaron Thompson for the amazing race and community support), and Cassidy Academy’s open house. If you haven’t checked out Run, Roast, and Refresh yet, get it on your list — it’s one of those feel-good, high-energy, wellness events. Plungeworkx gives you the opportunity to cold plunge for recovery. Give it a try plungeworx.com. After you have a cold plunge with Plungeworx, receive a deep tissue recovery massage with Makai Massage & Spa, makaimassageandspa.com.
On a whim, I raced early this month in the Bushwhaker 5K in Pensacola Beach. There was one little hill over the bridge, and otherwise flat and fast! I ate a Shredder Cheddar pouch 1-1.5 miles into the race, and felt a powered kick to the finish line. I never slowed, just turned it up to do a full send on the downhill. I had an average pace of 6:44 minutes and finished 2nd female overall for 20:51. First place overall and for female was the speedy, Rachel Kennedy from Ft Walton Beach. She runs for USATF. After the race, she tried Shredder Cheddar, and loved it. She prefers savory to sweet. We have plans to train together this fall. She is encouraging me to focus more training on mastering the winning strategy of the 5k. Game on!

On the fundraising front — whew. I launched a GoFundMe a few months back to help with manufacturing and building sales channels for Shredder Cheddar. Then I got the surprise email that, thanks to an admin error, all my donors were refunded. Yep. That was a rough one. But it’s all part of the learning curve, and I’ll be coming back stronger with a Kickstarter soon. The GoFundMe link is live again and working if you’d like to support: https://gofund.me/e1912fc8.
And the question I hear the most: “Where can I buy Shredder Cheddar?”So far, it’s been DM me or find me at events. But now — we’re online, and then… a runner at Wildcat Ultra kindly pointed out my shipping costs were way too high. Classic startup hiccup! Don’t worry — I’ve got a friend helping me fix this. In the meantime, if you’d like to order, just DM me (@hullsomefoods or hullsomefoods@gmail.com). I’ll make sure you get your Shredder Cheddar without breaking the bank.

If you would like to support Shredder Cheddar even more, buy Shredder Cheddar merch at hullsomefoods.com/category/all-products, sign up for updates at ShredderCheddar.com, or hit me up on social.
Thank you for riding these waves with me. Everything great takes time, patience, and a whole lot of heart. Trust me this is just the beginning.
Thank you!
